Karnataka Rajyotsava Day:-

Rajyotsava Day was celebrated at Infant Jesus School, Chikmagalur on 1st of November, 2012 in a very meaningful way. Karnataka flag was hoisted by Mr. Amar D’Souza, while, Professor M M Lokesh, Kannada lecturer of Government College, Sakarayapatna, inaugurated the newly set Kannada club in the school. He opined saying that Infant Jesus School is a unique one to open Kannada club in the school. Further he stated that the first Kannada dictionary was written not by a Kannadiga or an Indian but by a German Rev. Ferdinand Kittel who came to India for propagation of faith. Mr. Kiran Kumar B S, the president of the Kannada club explained the motive behind starting a club. Bro. Victor Crasta, the principal congratulated all the club members and promised every co-operation to conduct various planned activities in the school. Mr. Naveen Nazareth, the secretary of the club welcomed every one and Mr. Santhosh T R the vice president proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. Kusuma A C, the treasurer of the club compered the entire programme. School children exhibited colourful cultural programmes on Kannada Language and culture.
