Teachers' Day Celebration:-

Students of Infant Jesus School at Chikmagalur celebrated the Teachers' Day with great enthusiasm. Since September 5th fell on Sunday, the celebration was anticipated for Saturday. The day began with invoke the blessings of the Almighty by singing the prayer song by the students. Hemanth explained in his speech, how the teachers' Day originated by depicting the good life of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan who is the cause for this day. Sahana, the 3rd standard Student highlighted the good qualities of our teachers. Fr. Lawrence Dilraj Sequeira, the vice-principal distributed special gifts to every staff member and also gave the appointment letters for the new staff members. He thanked all the staff for rendering yeomen service to this institution. Bro. Victor Crasta, the principal opined saying that a teacher is more liked and respected by the students than their own mothers. "The word of the teacher is final. The teachers are burning candles and he requested them to burn till their end of life so that they can illumine the hearts of several more" he explained. Several Competitions between the staff and students were held to mark the occasion besides songs and dances performed by the students. . Bro. Frolic Fernandes spoke from the part of staff, thanking all the students for the wonderful day that was planned and prepared by the students. The day ended at 1 p.m. with cake and sweets to the students and a sumptuous meal to all the 18 staff.
